Lyrics Card Generator v5.8.1 Release Notes
Release date: 2026-07-19
v5.8.1 further reduces information density in the step-two Lyrics workspace. The top command bar now owns frequent actions, Review and lyric retrieval have independent entries, and the sidebar returns to Cleanup and Translation. The editor, shared scroll, selection anchors, 36-line export boundary, and main Stepper remain unchanged.
A more complete command bar
- Undo and Redo stay on the left, followed by direct actions for Paste Cleanup, Collapse Consecutive Blanks, Remove LRC Timeline, and AI Translation.
- Low-value Find and Replace is removed completely, including its interface, copy, processing logic, and tests, freeing space for practical commands.
- Fetch Lyrics and Review are independent actions on the right. Fetch Lyrics requests a candidate immediately and previews it in an opaque elevated panel. Review gathers the 36-line budget, column alignment, and locatable issues.
- Wide layouts show icons and labels, while narrow layouts reduce them to icons. Both panels support a close button, Escape, focus restoration, and outside-click dismissal.
A lighter sidebar
- The sidebar now keeps only two stable tabs: Cleanup and Translation. Duplicate Review, Source, and translation alignment content has been removed.
- Single-entry areas such as paste cleanup, LRC cleanup, line merging, section labels, alternating-lyrics splitting, translation formatting, and column swapping are shown directly instead of adding another disclosure.
- Explicit scope, safe synchronized blank-line cleanup, previews for risky actions, no-change feedback, and immediate undo remain available.
- Desktop keeps the resizable sidebar and 52 px collapsed rail. Narrow layouts continue to use an overlay drawer without compressing the lyrics.
Validation and compatibility
- The new structure covers all six interface languages and preserves keyboard, ARIA, reduced-motion, theme, and accent behavior.
- It was visually accepted at 1280 px desktop and 760 px narrow widths, and passed packaged desktop interaction regression, core tests, production build, and release-consistency checks.
